Apple unveils new iPad mini: 8.5-inch OLED, A20 Pro, IP67, just 5.4 mm thin, from 24,900 baht

Apple has unveiled an all-new iPad mini with an OLED display, a thinner and lighter design, the A20 Pro chip and water and dust resistance, giving the full iPad experience in a one-handed size.

Display, design and chip

The larger 8.5-inch OLED display, with an optional Nano-texture, delivers higher contrast and more than 2x the peak brightness of the previous iPad mini. The body is just 5.4 mm thin, comes in Midnight and Starlight, and is rated IP67. The A20 Pro chip has Neural Accelerators in every GPU core and a dual 16-core Neural Engine. A 12MP Center Stage front camera sits on the landscape edge, and an Acoustic Display improves sound, with fast charging support. Dave Pakula, Apple's vice president of hardware engineering, called it a major leap for people who want the full iPad experience in a portable size.

N1 and C2

The Apple-designed N1 wireless chip brings Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 and Thread, with better performance on 5GHz Wi-Fi and more stable AirDrop and AirPlay. Cellular models get the C2 modem, with cellular data speeds up to 50% faster than the previous iPad mini and better efficiency, plus eSIM. N1 and C2 debut on iPad mini. iPadOS 27 adds a new Liquid Glass slider, and iPadOS 27.2 supports display extension mode with external displays.
